DIY Synthetic Urine: How to Make Your Own Fake Piss for Drug Test?

Last Updated on

Of all the various ways to dodge a drug test, synthetic urine is a pretty weird one at first glance. And yet it makes sense after a bit of thought: if you give them a urine sample that doesn’t have anything suspect in it, what is there for the lab to detect? Of course, there’s always the difficulty of finding it, buying it, making sure you’ve got a good batch, and the ever-present worry of efficacy.

This is why some people turn to the idea of making their own fake urine.

Wait, What?

Yes, you heard that right. It’s certainly an option. You need the right ingredients and a few measurement tools, but otherwise making your own fake pee is well within your reach. The hard part will mainly be sourcing some of the ingredients, but it’s not that hard. A quick Google Log Outsearch will get you some good results.

First, you have no real way to test your DIY pee, and thus no way of knowing whether you’ll pass or fail until the lab looks at your sample. This is problematic for obvious reasons.

Second, you’ll have to face the same troubles as store-bought synthetic urine: keeping it warm, sneaking it past any security, and getting it into the sample cup if you’re being supervised.

And third, given the cost of ingredients, it’d be cheaper to just get pre-made synthetic urine.

Remember, this is 2019. The labs are wise to the tricks everyone’s tried to pull on them. Drug tests will first check to see if they’ve got actual urine in hand before they check for any drugs in your sample. So you have to make your urine is of good quality. If they look for an ingredient that should be there and it’s missing, you’re screwed.

In all honesty, it really would be easier, simpler, and cheaper to buy synthetic urine instead of making your own. The labs have better equipment and quality control than you have, and the good brands hold up to actual use. We highly recommend that you purchase a synthetic urine brand like Quick Fix 6.2. It’s a proven product that’s continually updated yearly to stay current with the latest drug tests.

The Acidic Recipe (Exercise Extreme Caution)

You will need:

  • 976ml of 0.02 mole hydrochloric acid solution
  • 1.9ml of 0.25 ammonia solution
  • 14.1g sodium chloride
  • 2.8g potassium chloride
  • 17.3g urea
  • 0.6g calcium chloride
  • 0.43g magnesium sulfate

The formula names may look intimidating, but aside from the solutions and the urea, you’ve likely ingested some of these already. Sodium chloride is table salt. Magnesium sulfate is Epsom salt. Potassium chloride is a part of low sodium salt. Calcium chloride is an electrolyte in sports drinks.

artificial homemade urineThe problem isn’t really getting the stuff. The dry ingredients (that is, the stuff that isn’t the hydrochloric acid or the ammonia solution) are easy enough to get, and you’ll likely get them in more quantities than you’ll need; most of them are sold in bottles of 500 grams. Remember, get lab-grade stuff, as lower grades may have additives that might not play well with the other ingredients.

Your real bottleneck will be the hydrochloric acid. Concentrated HCl is cheaper than an already-diluted bottle, but then you face the problem of diluting hydrochloric acid. There’s a reason the EPA regulates it as a toxic substance. If you’re getting it concentrated, them remember, always acid into water and never the other way around. Always have your protective equipment on you.

So. Let’s say you’ve got all your ingredients. You will also need a digital scale of great accuracy to measure out the amounts as listed above.

The first step is to mix together the dry ingredients. Toss them all into a sealable container with a capacity of one liter. Mix them all up.

Once all the dry ingredients are in, add the ammonia solution.

Then, with great care, add the hydrochloric acid. You might not need to use all your HCl; the guideline is just to keep adding hydrochloric acid until the solution has the right color for urine.

When it reaches the right color, seal the container and store it in a safe place away from direct sunlight. It’ll keep for a few weeks as long as it isn’t exposed to any extreme temperatures. When the time comes, just fill up a small, concealable bottle with your new fake pee and go to your test.

The Freezable Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 750ml distilled water
  • 7.5g salt
  • 50mg albumin powder (bovine or egg)
  • 4.5g potassium chloride
  • 4.8g monosodium phosphate
  • 18.2g urea
  • 2g creatinine

This one is a lot less risky than the previous one, mainly because it doesn’t involve any hydrochloric acid. Albumin powder and monosodium phosphate are easy enough to get. It’s the creatinine that’ll be your stumbling block, and you’ll have to search far and wide to get enough of it for what you’re making. Note that creatinine and creatine are two related but different things, so don’t mix them up.

Again, once you’ve got your ingredients together, you’ll need a very fine scale to be sure you’ve got the right quantities.

Take your one-liter sealable container and put the water in.

Then slowly add the urea into the water, and mix thoroughly. Make sure all the crystals have dissolved in the water.

Then add the salt, the potassium chloride, and the sodium phosphate, again mixing thoroughly.

Then seal it up. Again, this will last you several weeks, but you can freeze this mixture if you need it to last longer.

On the day of your test, add the creatinine and albumin powder. Then put what you need into a concealable bottle, and off you go.chemical lab equipment

Practical Concerns

With both recipes, and really any kind of fake urine, your main concern will be to keep it at the right temperature. Your body’s normal range of temperature is 97.7 to 99.5 F, and since urine comes from your body, it has to be a similar range: 94 to 100 F. Too low and they’ll think you’re a corpse; too high and they’ll think you’re running a fever, and either way, you’ve drawn extra attention to yourself.

To keep temperature up, there are a few techniques. You can buy an attachable heating pack and stick it onto your sample bottle, and it’ll get it to the right temperature in about an hour (depending, of course, on the heating pack). Strap that tight to your body, to let body heat do some of the work. Best places are down your underwear or the inside of the thigh.

Some testing venues may observe you while you provide your sample. If this should be the case, fake pee won’t work for you unless you also have a fake penis to fool the watching lab tech with.

One particular pre-made synthetic urine brand we can confidently recommend is Quick Fix which has  less than a 0.01% fail rate. A close alternative to Quick Fix Plus is Clear Choice Sub-Solution which comes in a powdered state.

Conclusions

Honestly, given the expense and effort that you have to go through, making your own urine is genuinely not worth it. Too many things can go wrong, and there’s no way for you to reliably test if you’ve made a good batch. Do you really want to put your job in the hands of your mixing skills and the lab’s attentiveness?

It would be so much easier and cheaper to just buy a product like Quick Fix and present that as your sample. You won’t have to go through all the trouble of buying ingredients and the safety concerns of making urine, and you’ll be assured of quality control.
